Location

High on the Aventine Hill and set back from the street, the hotel is away from the noisy bustle of the centre of Rome.

Home to several large houses, the Aventine has plenty of greenery and some very fine churches and resembles a modern-day Palatine where tranquillity and calm reign supreme.  The streets are lined with walls and trellises covered in ivy and topped with orange trees, stone pines and palms.

Almost the only sounds are the birds singing, children shouting in a playground or the occasional dog barking. Although the area is principally residential, guests can walk down the road to Rome lying muffled at the foot of the hill.

The ruins of Circus Maximus take about ten minutes on foot, as does Testaccio, a destination popular for its excellent restaurants. Or, by following a delightful paved alleyway guests can walk down to the banks of the Tiber.

NB: The hotel is part of a chain that includes the San Anselmo and San Pio hotels, both not far away. The hotel has car parking facilities.
