Hôtel de Buci
LocationSet half-way along the Rue de Buci, the Hotel Buci takes full advantage of one the most diverse neighbourhoods Paris has to offer. The area is both a marketplace, with stalls set out and a greengrocer on the corner, and the hub of a trendy student nightlife, with cafe tables on the pavements (the terrace of the Café du Marché is a must, as is La Palette – each in its own very different way). It’s a cultural hotspot with its second-hand bookshops and art galleries, but above all it’s a place that’s always full of life, with its many cinemas, clothing shops and restaurants, where tourists rub shoulders with local residents and people from other parts of Paris. Leaving the crowded boulevards behind, you can stroll quietly in the little streets between the Odéon and Saint Germain des Prés, as packed with charm and history as they are with art galleries and boutiques. Its proximity to the Rue de Rennes and the surrounding streets means that dangerous shopping expeditions are a constant risk. And don’t forget to visit the shop of Pierre Hermé, the best pâtissier in Paris. The Seine and the Jardin du Luxembourg are both close by, the museums are not very far away, and the hotel’s central position is ideal for walkers who can cover all of Paris on foot. The Mabillon metro station is less than a hundred metres from the hotel. |
