Hôtel du Panthéon

Location

At the top of Sainte Geneviève hill, the Panthéon Hotel opens its doors onto a generously proportioned square which, even when almost overrun with tourists, students and locals still exudes an air of spaciousness.  

Surrounded by impressive buildings (local Town Hall, College of Law, and the Sainte-Geneviève library) the square is not known for its gaiety, particularly at night when it is quite quiet but it on the edge of a very lively area, frequented by students and others coming and going from small cafés. The area is also home to several libraries and art house cinemas.

While there are almost no boutiques in the immediate vicinity of Sainte Geneviève hill the visitor is soon in the traffic-free  Rue Mouffetard for instance with its markets, or the Sorbonne and then Saint Michel, the student areas. Descending via Rue Soufflot towards the Luxembourg Gardens provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of Parisian rooftops with the tip of the Eiffel Tower rising above the trees in the distance.
