Entrance
As you enter the hotel from the Piazza de Trevi and register at the old wooden desk located in the long entrance corridor, you will gradually feel you are leaving behind the hustle and bustle of tourists and entering your own little part of Rome.
As a listed building, it has not been possible to alter the structure of the hotel but, in actual fact, this is what has given it its character; the irregularities of time have melted into a sort of patina where a sentiment of times gone by prevails over any feeling of luxury.
In the public areas, the walls are not entirely straight, the dark painted ceilings stand out against the varnish of the dark yellow walls and the stair vaults have retained some of the austerity of the convent. The corridors are furnished with different styles of antiques including finely worked chairs, high chests of drawers, embroidered tablemats, white peonies and lamps diffusing a gentle yellowed light.
The rooms
The rooms are spread over three floors with lift access. Those overlooking the fountain have a spectacular view but, with the hordes of people and the constant cascade of water falling at Neptune’s feet, the other rooms are naturally quieter.
In keeping with the character of the hotel, there is neither mini bar nor Internet connection but rustic-inspired furniture and décor. Some rooms have been recently refurbished in a more modern style.
The hotel has no restaurant or lounges however the view over the fountain from the covered terrace with its ancient beamed ceiling offers something of a unique experience.
Breakfast
A buffet breakfast is served in this room and offers a wide variety of good quality products, both sweet and savoury: mini-pastries, cakes, dairy products, cherry tomatoes, mini-mozarella, salamis etc. Hot drinks are served to your table.
