Entrance
With its shrubs in chrome tubs and small metal and glass canopy adorning the beautiful white Neo-classical façade, the Pavillon de Paris gently makes its mark in this quiet, slightly unassuming street by day, and even more so by night, with its bright white lights.

Once through the electronic door, the reception desk is on your immediate right, straight ahead is a staircase and corridor leading to the lift and, to the left, a small lounge leading to the bar, which in turn leads to a small breakfast room.

Sitting in front of an imposing white panel set slightly away from the wall, the reception desk is a simple cube-shape covered in varnished gold leaf, making for a less formal, more intimate welcome. In the lounge, the golden splendour of reception is recaptured in a wall panel.

Large windows looking out onto the street and the soft, sober colours of the sofas, throws and deep armchairs provide the perfect backdrop for a quiet read of the paper or a chat over tea or coffee. The beige-coloured stone tiles on the floor add a touch of freshness and simplicity.

Pass through the bar, with its velvet fittings, mirrors, fashion magazines and photo display, and you will come to the breakfast room, a white-tiled room flooded in natural light by an atrium window and opening out onto a tiny courtyard which has been cleverly transformed into a zen garden.

The rooms lead from one to another, each with their own particular ambience and decor.

The rooms
The rooms are tastefully decorated in a very clear, rigorous style: ecru, beige and brown, wood and stripes. The fine stripes of the carpet reflect the wider stripes in the curtains and the almost invisible stripes in the embossed wallpaper. All the furniture, the chairs, desk, cupboards and headboards, is wood, indeed dark wood. The headboards of curved ecru fabric facings set off against the dark wood are one of the signature features of the hotel.

Another signature feature are the faintly Japanese cupboard handles comprising a flat polished metal ring attached to a rectangle of black wood. With the exception of the reading lights, the lighting is indirect and provided by elegant lamps with rectangular shades. The beds have firm mattresses, duvet and an extremely cosy beige bedspread. Attention to detail comes in the form of a choice of pillow shape and the incense sticks which are for sale in the rooms. Yet another detail: a carefully folded robe and slippers await you at the foot of the bed.

There has been an imaginative use of space with the TV and mini-bar integrated into a tall wooden cupboard and the console sliding out from the desk. There is also a mini fax machine and free wifi connection. The bathrooms are fairly functional with a bath, small tiles and a marble surface.

Room service is available until midnight. There is a wide choice of French, Japanese, Chinese/Thai dishes and pizzas until 22:30 hours and then a more restricted menu.

Room types
The décor and services available are common to all rooms but the rooms themselves vary in size depending on whether they have a twin, queen or double bed. The twins are slightly larger than the others and the smallest rooms are mainly reserved for guests on their own.

The rooms overlooking the courtyard are a little quieter but bear in mind that the rue de Parme is not very noisy. It is an open courtyard so is fairly bright. Finally, the rooms on the 6th and final floor have exposed beams whilst those on the 5th floor overlooking the street have a small balcony.

Breakfast

A continental buffet breakfast comprising mini pastries, a choice of fruit and fruit salads, cured meats, cheeses, dairy products, fruit juice and large pots of jam unique to the hotel.
