The Hotel Ponte Sisto is in the Via dei Pettinari, which has retained a certain flavour of the Rome of the 1950s. The uneven paving, some clockmakers’ shops with retro jewellery, the little local cafés where everyone knows each other, the chapels, the faded walls, the scooters left about everywhere, combine to give an inimitable, natural, joyful feel to the area that you will find in few other places in the city.

Just a short distance away flows the sleepy Tiber, almost forgotten by the crowds that pass along its banks. A little further on, a maze of little streets come out in amazing squares surrounded by palaces and churches.  The Palazzo Spada, the Farnese Palace and the Campo dei Fiori are close by. And there’s the Ghetto too, more hidden away, with its fabulous restaurants.

The Ponte Sisto close by makes neighbouring Trastevere easy to reach from the hotel, so you can visit this historically popular but fast-changing neighbourhood while enjoying a standard of hotel service that does not exist there.

The hotel’s location invites you to plunge deeply into the charm of Rome’s little streets, such as the Via Giulia, full of history, or the Via di Monserrato, lined with contemporary art galleries or interior decorators’ boutiques.

Set in the heart of the city, the hotel is less than a twenty-minute walk from the Vatican or the ruins of the Roman Forum – allowing plenty of time to walk at a comfortable pace!
