The Threadneedles
LocationThreadneedles Street is a narrow street bordered by imposing buildings and one of the main thoroughfares in the City of London. A constant stream of buses dart up and down and the nearest tube station is only a few metres away. This is a really lively area in the week but extremely quiet at the weekend when all the shops and restaurant close. By contrast, the hotel is equidistant between two of London’s most happening areas at the weekend. On one side you have the Tate Modern, the South Bank and, for foodies, Saturday’s Borough Market and on the other lies the slightly off-beat Spitalfields with its Sunday flea market and vaguely Latin feel. Both can be reached in a good fifteen minutes on foot (less by bus). The more mainstream attractions of St Paul’s Cathedral and London Bridge are also within walking distance. Oxford Circus and London’s traditional shopping areas are a five minute tube-ride away. |
